Do you have scarring from acne? Did you know that you have many choices with it comes to treating and removing the scars? Some of the options are simple, such as lotions and creams, and other options involve plastic surgery. It’s not always easy to decide on which treatment to pursue; many of them can be costly. The best approach is to discuss your options with a medical care professional that you trust, after you have done some research to understand exactly what your options are. In this manner, you will be able to make an intelligent decision. In this report, we’ll give you some of the choices you can make regarding the different treatments for removing acne scarring.

You can’t have a current batch of active acne if you want to have your acne scars surgically removed. It’s important not to confuse the two different methods for treating acne. One type of treatment techniques are for acne scars and the other techniques are for active acne cases. It’s true that procedures, such as laser, are successful in treating a fresh acne outbreak, as well as scarring, but the particular surgical procedure in each instance will be unique. So, before you do anything about your scars, you have to get rid of your active acne. Your dermatologist can help you with this, or you can use any treatments that have proven effective for you in the past.

Concealing makeup is a method many people use to cover up their acne scars. Makeup can make you look better, and feel better about your acne scars, whether you are using it as a temporary solution until you find something else, or if it’s the only solution you have at this time. There are treatments available that will usually remove, or at least reduce, most acne scarring with the exception of stubborn scarring that just won’t respond to treatment.

Not everyone’s acne scars will go away with home remedies and, unfortunately, people with severe scarring that require surgical intervention cannot always afford this type of treatment. If you need surgery, but it isn’t an option at this time, you can temporarily use a high-quality makeup to cover your scars. One of the best types of makeup for this purpose are the mineral based makeup lines. They have a natural appearance and treat your skin gently.

Just as you can find many over-the-counter treatments for active acne, you can also find creams and lotions meant to remove scars. Basically, these products contain ingredients such as Vitamin C and E, aloe vera gel, and retinol.

However, don’t expect these products to do any good on severe acne scarring. They are mainly beneficial for shallow, or slight, scars. If you can find some reviews of the products you are interested in, that have been written by actual users of the product, that will tell you which ones are the most effective. Be realistic in your expectations, however. Don’t expect an OTC cream or lotion to be successful on severe scarring. Each person’s method for dealing with their acne scars will be unique to that person. Not everyone will benefit from the same treatment. If your acne scarring is not extreme, or is superficial, you will probably be able to find a treatment method that doesn’t involve one of the surgical procedures we’ve mentioned above. Do your research on the different surgical techniques, if this is what you want to consider for your acne scars and, most importantly, consult with your dermatologist and ask him or her any questions you may have.

Anti wrinkle creams are used frequently these days but we hardly spend time to see their ingredients, and the effects they have on our skin. In this article I will discuss some common natural and synthetic components which are used in anti wrinkle creams and their effect on your skin.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS

There are a variety of natural ingredients which are used in combination in various anti wrinkle creams producing the desired results. The commonly used ingredients are:

Sweet Almond Oil

Evening Primrose Oil

Shea Butter:

Lavender Essential Oil

Pumice, Yellow Clay, finely ground Oatmeal and Tea Tree Powder with essential oils of Neroli and Chamomile

oils of Lemon and Lemon-scented Tea Tree

Calendula and Lavender extracts and Jojoba oil.

Rose, Cale dula, Glycerine, Witchhazel and Aloe Vera

Almond oil contains naturally occurring vitamins A, B and E and works as a conditioner, moisturizer and skin softner, relieves dryness, irritation and itching.It can be used for all skin types.

Evening primrose oil contains minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids and is a source of gamma linolenic acid (GLA.) It acts as a moisturizer for dry and sensitive skin and also heps in regeneration of new skin cells.

Shea butter is used to prevent early aging, healing of sun damaged skin and as a moisturizer

Lavender Essential Oil works as antitoxic and a tonic, helps in skin regeneration and improves intra cellular blood circulation.

Tea tree powder, pumice, yellow clay, finely ground oatmeal with oils of neroli and chamomile are used as a combination in various skin gels and are said to remove the superficial dead skin and produce soothing effect.

Aloe Vera, Calendula, Glycerine, Witchhazel and rose are used as skin toners and they can be used on all types of sensitive skins, without irritation and dryness.

There are many synthetic products which are used as ingredients in anti wrinkle creams commonly used include:

Alpha hydroxy acids

Beta hydroxy acids

Tretinoin

Trichloroacetic acid

Phenol,

Q10

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are the water soluble acids which are derived from food products and they include glycolic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid and malic acid.They penetrate the skins outer surface and reduce the cell adhesion thereby promoting skin renewal.Glycolic acid is the commonly used ingredient in anti wrinkle creams.

Beta hydroxy acids(BHA) are lipid soluble and penetrate better than AHA in oily skin.They increase the shedding of outer layer of skin and thus promotin g fresh, younger skin surface. Salicylic acid is the commonly used BHA in anti wrinkle creams.

Tretinoin is vitamin A and it promotes the production of collagen which is a connective tissue protein and main component of skin. It also promotes generation of new skin.

Trichloroacetic acid is used in wart treatment, chemical peeling and tattoo removal. It promotes generation of new skin by killing old skin cells.

Phenol also known as carbolic acid prevents skin damage form ultraviolet rays and is thus used in sun screen lotions.

Q10 scientifically known as co enzyme Q10 works as an anti oxidant and prevents skin damage from ultraviolet light and is used as a powerful chemical in anti wrinkle cream.

Although botox gained wide popularity among the folks in this century, however, now most of the people want to avoid botox as an anti wrinkle therapy due to certain limitations. One of the limitations is it has avery short duration of action i.e. it is to be repeated after every three to six months in order to maintain the anti wrinkle effects. Few people who have a fear of injections also try to avoid injectable botox for their wrinkles, while preferring other oral or local measures. Moreover, in very rare cases botox may have few serious and life threatening side effects which makes is responsible for its decreasing popularity.

A large number of botox alternatives have emerged all over the world claiming to give anti aging results better than botox. However very few of them really serve the purpose and are being used my most of the people of the world. This narration will certainly help you in selecting the best botox alternative in the market, saving you both money and time and giving you the younger outlooks at the same time.

One of the most popular anti wrinkle and anti aging serum is the product composed of Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA). It has indeed gained wide popularity among the celebrities and is having commendations in the forums. Its use is convincingly encouraged by people from all walks of life. GABA is a neurotransmiiter which inhibits the impulses released from the nerves. In this way, it relaxes both the brain and the body (muscles). When muscles are relaxed the wrinkles disappear gradually. It is marketed with many names; however, this product is really a good alternative for botox. It is comparatively an expensive option.

Another alternative to botox in the market is a cocktail of peptide argireline, hyaluronic acid and moisturizers. It is marketed with different brands names. It is a product which has been approved by lots of dermatologists. It basically removes the wrinkles and lines due to aging and also decrease the appearance of new lines on the face.

Strivectin SD and high peptide mobilizers are other useful and proved options to be used in place of botox. Peptide mobilizers basically stimulates collagen production in the skin and thus help fighting wrinkles associated with aging especially. However, few researchers are still doubtful of Strivectin SD being a good alternative to botx because there is lot to know about it yet.

Botox which is commonly known as botulinum toxin has now been given a name of onabotulinum toxin A. It is derived from a soil microorganism named as Clostridium botulinum. Botox is one of the most common and most used drugs of this century and centuries to come especially because of its cosmetic reason. It is just another Disprin in twentieth century.

Another reason for gaining popularity is its safety profile which is good enough most of the times. This fits true especially in the case when botox is used in low doses. The lower is the better. In low doses botox is usually used for cosmetic purposes like removal of facial wrinkles and lines or it may be used for excessive sweating or droopy eyelids. There is very less chance of complications and side effects while botox is used in treatment of these conditions due to low dose administration. Many studies have been conducted which has shown high safety profile of botox in low doses.

When botox is to be used in higher doses like for treatment of muscular spasms of bigger muscles of upper or lower limbs or in pediatric conditions like cerebral palsies or many other conditions, then the case is bit different. In high doses this may turn in to poison sometimes or may not. However, a judicious approach is to be carried out before giving this injection to the patients. It should be confirmed appropriately that whether botox is required by the individual for this very condition or not.

As botox in stays in body for a longer time and is very potent, so it should always be used cautiously in large doses. Sometimes, it may diffuse to the nerves from the muscles and may reach brain causing some serious complications. In certain cases botox caused respiratory muscles paralysis and breathing difficulties in pediatric patients when used for treating cerebral palsy.

Serious side effects of botox can be respiratory muscle paralysis, anaphylactic reactions or allergic reactions, speech problems or severe swallowing problems. However, few minor side effects of botox are also there but they do not require any medical intervention.

It is always strongly recommended and advisable to consult your physician before commencing botox treatment for any disease because of its narrow safety margin especially in large doses. This will help you to have appropriate dosing of the botox with minimum side effects. Do try it!

Botox is a drug which is used to treat muscle spasms and relax tense muscles. These days it is commonly called as onabotulinum toxin A, while previously it was named as Botulinum toxin A. it is really an effective and useful option for getting rid of wrinkles and lines on the body. However, like any other medicine it has few adverse or side effects. They are not compulsorily to come. Few individuals tolerate them well enough while few do not.

In discussion here we divide the side effects into common and uncommon ones as common side effects are those which are faced by most of the users. You should not be worried about their side effects because most of these side effects are not dangerous at all and they are gone even without using any medicine.
So the common but minor side effects of botox associated with cosmetic use or treatment of other medical conditions like torticollis, tic douloreux etc are:

It results in drooping of eyelids because of excessive relaxation of the muscles holding the eyelids in position.

Swallowing may become difficult, also known as dyspahgia by using botox in high doses especially while treating medical conditions.

Nausea and if not controlled resultant vomiting is also another side effect of botox use.

As it relaxes the muscles, so if it is used to treat the facial wrinkles, facial muscle weakness is the outcome, muscles which are paralysed are orbicularis oris, orbiculrais oculi etc.

It may result in unusual pain in the face with no obvious reason and it is sometimes really unbearable.

Heartburns, indigestion, gastroesophageal reflux are also likely to occur while using botox. They can be prevented by using some anti reflux or gastroprotective medicines.

Elevated blood pressure known as hypertension and resultant headaches are also one of the common side effects of botulinum toxin use.

Other minor side effects are like cough, flu like symptoms, toothaches, back pain, dizziness, local reaction to the injection site and backaches.

However, in some cases botulinum toxin may spread to other parts of the body where not required and thus may result in some serious side effects which may require intervention by a healthcare provider. This condition is known as botulism. One of the serious side effects is muscle weakness all over the body including respiratory muscles causing respiratory difficulty. Moreover diplopia or double vision, speech problems and severe swallowing problems may also ensue which required some immediate management. However, they are unusual.

A vast range of treatment modalities are present for wrinkles appearing on the skin due to number of factors causing them. They range from use of anti wrinkles cream to laser surgery for the removal of wrinkles. However, it is believed that laser surgery actually plays role in decreasing the appearance of most of the wrinkles. It is not much effective in completely removing the wrinkles from the face.

Risk benefit ratio of the laser surgery usually determines whether it should be opted or not. Till now this ratio is balanced and thus laser surgery is not much commonly used across the world.

Cosmetic or plastic surgeons encase the domain of laser surgery for wrinkle treatment. Laser surgery has many benefits over traditional chemical peels or dermabrasion used for treatment of wrinkles on the face and above the lips. However it comes with few limitations which are:

Elimination of deep wrinkles is not possible;

Excessive skin which is sagged cannot be removed by this technique;

Now the question arises of the safety of laser surgery, which can be answered by considering different types of laser surgeries available. These types depend on the agent used in laser surgery. These are:

Cardondioxide;

Erbium;

N- lite.

All have their merits and demerits but CO2 is the most commonly laser surfacing agent used these days. This laser surgery technique with carbondioxide is done in doctor’s office. It has few side effects which are given below:

First seven to ten days the skin is swollen and remains red. It may also burn or weep in the first few days;

Skin may remain pinkish in color during first 10 to 12 weeks of surgery and thus needs to be covered with makeup.

Brown discoloration of the skin is another common side effect of laser surgery. It is usually not permanent but temporary. However, in some cases it may remain there for life. In order to avoid it sunscreen are to be worn religiously while going in sunlight.

Laser surgery should be avoided in following conditions:

Previous allergy to any laser surgery;

recent exposure to radiations for cancer therapy;

If you have sun allergy then it should be carried out cautiously;

Facial warts or herpes simplex;

If you are pregnant or breast feeding then it should be delayed for at least that much time.

Wrinkles are inevitable part of ageing. it is not wrong to say that aging and wrinkles go together. If wrinkles are somewhere else in the body, then they may be tolerable. However, wrinkles especially on the face are the ones to get rid of as early as possible. They tend to decrease the face value. Area above the lips is notorious for having wrinkles especially in old age.

The most common cause for wrinkles above the lips is facial expression with the help of lips especially. Due to this the muscles around the lips, known as orbicularis oris are constantly under tension which result in formation of wrinkle lines deep there. In order to avoid wrinkles relax your mouth. Lots of expressions keep the facial muscles constantly under tension and by relaxing those most of the time you can get rid of unwanted wrinkles.

Another factor causing excessive wrinkles above lip is sunlight. Sunlight as ultraviolet radiations which results in formation of free radicals in the body and eventually causing wrinkles. So it is always better to avoid both UVA and UVB radiations as much as possible. This can be done by using sun screens on your face.

Moisturizing your skin is also an important remedy for wrinkles above lip. Moisturize your skin both from inside as well as from outside. Take plenty of fluids especially water throughout the day. You can also use moisturizing creams above your lips to keep them moist.

Certain chemical substances like creams containing hydroxyl acids of different types as well as Retin A creams are very beneficial in getting rid of wrinkles above lips. Hydroxyl acids actually remove the top layer of skin thus exposing the new and healthy skin. However, Retin A creams help in regeneration of the skin cells, resulting in wrinkle removal.

Chemical peel offs are newer modalities used for getting rid of wrinkles above lips. They actually burn away the top layer leaving the new and fresh layer exposed. A dermatologist must be consulted before using this treatment modality.

Laser therapy is becoming more and more popular these days in getting rid of unwanted wrinkles especially above the lips but with few limitations. This treatment modality needs to be repeated after every 3 to 6 months as it has short living effect.

Sleep in mandatory for a good and healthy skin and by taking adequate sleep you can delay wrinkle appearance by 5 to 10 years. Enjoy sleeping!

So here is the right place to guide you what to do of all these lines and wrinkles coming on your face as you grow older.

First of all we must know the basic cause of appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin. With growing age, collagen present in the skin is worn out. As a result of this the elasticity of the skin is lost and thus lines and wrinkles become more and more prominent on your face. There is nothing specific and effective in fact which can help stop aging. So, few techniques are devised which may help preventing lines and wrinkles on your face.

Having enough sleep, plenty of water, good balanced diet especially rich in hyaluronic acid and regular workup are all very beneficial in reducing lines and wrinkles from your skin.

Sleeping posture also defines the lines on your face. So to reduce wrinkles and lines from the face you must sleep on your back so that your face has no contact with the bed or pillow which may form lines on your face.

Another cause of lines and wrinkles can be cigarette smoking. Smoking should be avoided to have a wrinkle and line free skin. Avoiding smoking may also help you have a healthy looking skin as blood supply of the skin is improved by quitting smoking.

These days few drugs and artificially prepared biochemical substances are used for the prevention and reduction of lines on your face. On the top of the is;

Botox injection; it is well purified preparation of botulinum toxin A. It acts by blocking the nerve impulses and thus paralyzing the specific muscles being supplied the nerve. By paralyzing the muscles the wrinkles are removed as all the muscles are completely relaxed.

These days collagen injections are also available which act by replenishing the collagen reserves and thus strengthening the fiber network on the skin providing the skin great health and tone. Those who are afraid of having collagen injection may use certain cream preparations which also act in the same way but most of the times superficially. These creams cannot go much deeper as compared to injections.

Ageing brings wrinkles all over your body and the parts of the body which are most affected are the face and hands. Remaining parts are not visible and thus do not bother you much. However, once wrinkles appear and affect your facial value, which is the point to start thinking seriously about it but then it is too late.

Elasticity and moisture of the skin is lost as we age. In order to prevent wrinkles the important technique is to keep the skin moist throughout your life as well as use such diet which helps maintaining the elasticity of the skin. Only in this way you can look younger even in your 70s.

Genetic makeup is surely an important aspect of aging in your life. But it is not justified to blame your genes for all the bad or unlikely changes in your body. It has been researched that genes contribute only 30% in aging process. Rest 70 % can be modified by life style and habits. So, it is untrue to say that appearance of wrinkles is totally dependent on genetic makeup.

Sunlight is another wrinkle defining factor in your life and you must adapt certain ways to prevent yourself from it as much as possible. It is believed that sunlight causes certain genetic mutations in the skin which increase wrinkling. So avoiding sunlight with the help of sunglasses, hats, caps and sun blocks is a mandatory step in wrinkle prevention. However you must know that sunlight is an important source of vitamin D. Too less exposure to sunlight may lead to vitamin D deficiency and related problems.
Ultraviolet radiations are responsible for production of free radicals in the body and they cause wrinkles all over the body. So increasing anti oxidant intake in the form of fruits and vegetables can help preventing wrinkles. These anti oxidants are available in blue berries, acai, pomegrenates and green tea. Certain creams and moisturizers are available which contain antioxidants and thus help combating against wrinkles.

Sleeping position is also very important in preventing face wrinkles. It is advisable to sleep on your back in order to prevent from facial wrinkles. When you sleep on your face downwards lines are formed on the face which is converted into wrinkles as you age.

Those who smoke should quit smoking as soon as possible because it is also believed to cause wrinkles. Moreover by keeping happy and controlling excessive facial expression also play an important role in preventing wrinkles.
